White Bluffs Hanford Reach

Enjoy a relaxing 3-hour escape from the Tri-Cities, Washington.  Tour along the peaceful landscape of the White Bluffs in the last free flowing non-tidal stretch of the Columbia River.  Your tour around the Hanford Reach National Monument will provide viewing of wildlife and many varieties of birds within the harsh landscape.

The White Bluffs region of the Hanford Reach National Monument has been untouched by development or agriculture since 1943. Instead of the usual cliffs and boulders of basalt, this area features bluffs and badlands of the Ringold Formation, ancient river and lakebed sediments laid down by the Columbia River system between 8.5 and 3.4 million years ago.

Chuck will stopover on a nice sandy beach for a pleasant lunch to help you immerse yourself in the outdoor experience.  You’re a boat ride away from the city scape with Captain Chuck on the Columbia River- Tri-Cities, Washington.

Chuck's Guide Services fishing on the Columbia River

Captain Chuck

Chuck Steltenpohl is based in the Tri-Cities, Washington and has over 30 years of experience fishing the Columbia River and will work hard to make your day on the water a success! He is U.S. Coast Guard and Washington State licensed, trained in First Aid and CPR and is fully insured.

He uses quality fishing equipment and provides the best baits on the water.  He spends many hours preparing and organizing to make your trip awesome.  Chuck has the knowledge and the genuine passion to help you harvest fish and ducks and have fun doing it.

You can expect a quality day on the water with Captain Chuck.  He’s a reliable, ethical, driven and enthusiastic individual and really fun to be around.  Jump in the boat for a stress-free day of fishing and comradery with family or friends.  You can bring up to 4 people and fish for Walleye, Sturgeon, Chinook, Shad, Bass or hunt ducks in season.

You can also create a combination day and fish for Sturgeon the size of a Marlin followed by catching some great eating Walleye.

Chuck’s side kick for hunting trips is Charlie. He’s a 3-year-old highly skilled black lab who has a friendly, playful and loving old soul but gets down to business during duck season.

When duck’s start flying Charlie glides into action to show off his love for fetching birds. He transforms into an amazing beast of an athlete. The days are long but there are no limits of what Charlie can and will do. Chuck’s trained him with voice and hand signals and he’s remarkable to watch in action. He retrieves an average of 350 birds each season and continues his training in the off-season by swimming and fetching in the nearby rivers with Chuck.

When he’s not hunting Charlie’s favorite places are curled up on the couch or following Chuck around while he organizes for his next trip.
